I was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. I attended Northeast High School and Temple University. My first job was as a research technician at the Institute for Cancer Research, where I met my wife, Eva. We both subsequently got jobs at the Merck pharmaceutical company. I started as a lab technician in Virology Control, followed by short stints in Environmental Control and Process Validation, before finding a home in Worldwide Product Safety, where I went on to become the Director of Adverse Event Information Management. After a 31-year career at Merck, I took an early retirement. After a short time doing some pharmaceutical consulting, I found a second career at the Sellersville Theater as house manager and volunteer coordinator, where I worked with many of my favorite musicians. I have since retired from that job as well, so I am free to do what I enjoy most- spending time with family, traveling, attending sporting events and concerts, hiking, and focusing on my health and wellness, including supporting prostate cancer awareness.
